One of our relatives, ca.1954, “You've got to have a hole in your head to go to that God-forsaken place”. |
In 1956, having surrendered to the Lord for full time work in Taiwan, the family arrived in Taipei in February. Here is a twist: Rev. Breeden was going to be bookkeeper for a ministry that was already begun. Little did he know, that in just a few short months, he would be THE missionary on the field.
You see, the person who Rev. Breeden was to replace came back to America and QUIT! Even divorced, leaving him 'forsaken' as far as man could see.
So, with full dependence upon the Lord God, with all the disability that Rev. Breeden, but all the ability that his Heavenly Father had, he 'launched into the deep'.
BES (Bible Evangelistic Society) was already running, teaching native and especially men from the mountains, who came from headhunter stock. These men had been gloriously saved and enrolled in Bible School to learn how to be a witness to others!
Now, Dale Breeden was an administrator, Bible School teacher, and a bookkeeper. All without knowing the language. Having grown tired of using an interpretor (or as he called them 'interrupters'), disability aside, Rev. Breeden not only learned to speak Mandarin, but read, write, and preach in that language.
August 2, 1983 Bro. Breeden , life's lessons learned, graduated to the King's Palace.
