THE PLEDGE OF GOD'S POWER IN THE RESURRECTION
God's power is pledged for its performance.
"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself" (Phil. 3:21).
The power that created the universe, made all systems and holds them in perpetual balance, is the power that is pledged to raise this human body, making my redemption complete. The power that confounded chaos with order, carpeting creation's temple with emerald, roofed it with royalty and lit it with 17 quintillion suns is the power which is committed to the resurrection of this human body. The power that binds lightnings to its chariot and rides upon the tempest - THAT is the power which is pledged to raise me from among the dead.
Sooner or later, God's power will be exercised. The trump of God will sound; death's vast empire, crammed with buried millions, will fall in crashing ruins. Pyramids and vaults will rend before the rising bodies. Mummies will fling off the trappings of centuries; buried dungeons, cathedrals and caverns shall cough up their dead. Ocean beds shall be evacuated. Battlefields will reproduce their armies.
Paul will be there with perfect vision, and able to explain the unexplainable. My loved ones will be there in full recognition. In time Abraham will be there with Sarah at his side. David will be there with his harp, along with the patriarchs of all ages.
THEN, we shall shout, "OH DEATH WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE,
WHERE IS THY VICTORY?"
"Oh for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemers's praise."
THIS is the "Blessed hope" - THIS is what may occur at any moment.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul."
In the Name of Him Who bought me,
